Sydney

I got back from Lady Elliot on Monday and it was really cool. The island was a lot smaller then I was expecting and only took 30 minutes to walk around the entire island. There were five students and our instructor on the trip and we all had a blast together. I went scuba diving twice and went snorkeling twice and it was very very cool. I saw a shark, a couple of sting rays, mantas, and lots of turtles which were my favorite. At night we watched the sunset on the beach which was around 5:30 so it gets dark super early right now. It was also cool cause we saw whales passing the island heading south towards Antartica. There were a ton of birds which I didn't really like cause they were not afraid of people at all but it was sooo much fun still. I am in Sydney now and my house it really cool. It is super vintage looking and it is a two minute walk to the beach. I have met a ton of people who live down there too and I think I will have a ton of fun with them. We went out one night and it was in this really cool bar and there was a live guitar player and he was really good and tons of fun. I am having a blast and will definitely keep everyone posted. I miss everyone and can't wait to talk to everyone.

On my way!

Today I am leaving for Australia and am currently in LA and will be leaving tonight and will arrive in Australia bright and early on Wednesday. I will spend one day in Sydney and then I will be off to Hervey Bay and from there will be travelling to Lady Elliot Island. I will be spending five days there where I will be learning about the environment and be scuba diving. I have recently just gotten certified so I am very excited to explore the Great Barrier Reef. After I leave Lady Elliot Island I will be returning back to Sydney where I will finish off my week with orientation. Then on July 18 I will begin my classes. I am very excited to begin my adventure and I will definitely keep everyone posted. Melissa
